Exploring the best of Costa Rica’s pacific coastline with Skyfie Productions & Delanada Project
Ready for another adventure of a lifetime! we jumped in Delanada's little blue Suzuki named "Pitufo", and set off on an unforgettable 3 day journey, exploring the beautiful pacific coastlines of Coasta Rica's Guanacaste and Puntarenas Province's.
Our goal? Just letting the road lead the way- as it led us to some of the most amazing beach destinations that we have ever visited.
our First Stop - Surfer paradise
Playa Hermosa is located in Guanacaste region, is situated just north of Playas del Coco. While Hermosa - meaning "beautiful" in Spanish, it’s reputation stays true to it’s name with clear blue waters and endless white sands, this is a perfect getaway destination for tourist who like to relax, lay in the sun, and enjoying the warm waters all year round. Water activities such as kayaking, jet-skiing, paddle boarding and surfing are only a few popular things to do here. We set up our cameras for a photoshoot with our new Costa Rican swimwear by Hilo De Pez and spend the day at the beach.
Vida Hermosa bar & Restaurant
Steps away from Hermosa beach- we entered a chill surfers' hangout spot. Vida Hermosa Restaurant is known for their Costa Rican dishes and amazingly fresh fruit smoothies! Vida Hermosa has everything to offer someone who is looking for a spot to hang out for the day, and also offers a great ambiance at night- with live acoustic music that is soothing to the ears. We spent the rest of our day here, creating a workspace from our laptops, enjoying the breeze blowing in off the Pacific Ocean and occasionally trying our balance on the tight rope that is set up on outside deck.
day 2 - the best of manuel antonio
manuel antonio national park
Manuel Antonio National Park is home to two of the most spectacular beaches in Costa Rica, Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio. These beaches are both located on the in Manuel Antonio National Park and offers more than just crystal clear turquoise waters and a tropical atmosphere to relax and swim. These beautiful beaches also sit amongst a rainforest full of beautiful wildlife; Costa Rican Squirrel Monkeys, Sloths, Iguanas, Birds, and a few very friendly raccoons. Luckily- we arrived here before the crowds in the morning, but in the afternoons are when most tourists arrive here- especially Playa Manuel Antonio. Skyfie Productions and Delanada project found many activities to do here- such as swimming, nature watching, and drone flying. We set up our tent for the day and enjoyed the beauty that this park has to offer.
side note: Watch your snacks and food! the wildlife are well known thieves here and you will leave without your lunch and bananas if you are not careful
Selinas @ Manuel Antonio
Checking into hostel paradise
After a day at the beach, we checked into Selinas, a luxury hostel paradise! To get here- you must drive through the town of Queops and up a small windy mountain road that leads to this white walled palace. This is definitely not your typical hostel. Selina's offers great music, and tasty morning buffet with multiple lounge areas and work spaces overlooking the jungle and ocean, great for any traveller. We were happy to call this place our new home and workplace for the next two days as we settled in and explored a local coffee, and a nighttime EDM pool party at our Hostel.
the last leg- searching for whales
Playa Bahia Ballena
As we near the end of our trip - today we had one final mission- to search for whales! During August- October marks the start of whale season in Costa Rica’s Pacific coastlines and if you are lucky you can spot many humpback whales near Playa Bahia Ballena . Unfortunatly we didn't see any this time but Playa Bahia Ballena was still a wonderful pit stop on our way home This beach is also known to be one of the best spot for beginner surfers to start practicing their surf as the swells and breaks are not as harsh here.
Mi Amore Restaurant
is it a rock or a whale?
This hidden gem nestles in one of the most beautiful hotels nestled at the top of a hill with some of the best views you will find that overlooks the famous “whale tale” without being in an airplane. Welcome to Mi Amore Restaurant. Located inside of Vista Ballena Hotel, this gourmet cuisine offers an array of flavors on their menu as well as an amazing panoramic views and one of a kind mango mojitos! We highly recommend the small drive up for this treat.
